Doesn't happen too much around here but one night a couple of weeks ago it got down to 32 deg. In the morning I let the grid heater cycle, starts right up with a rough idle and the check engine light comes on. Threw a 1690 code- timing sig of the fuel pump and ecm does not match.

The comp box was on and set at 1x3. When I tried to turn it off pushing the button many times it wouldn't shut off or change settings.

When I got off work the truck ran fine and after 3 starts the engine light went out.

This morning temp down to 32 deg. again and same thing, rough idle and engine light. This time the comp is not on.

Has anyone experienced this. Am wondering if the box is going bad on me. Does it still communicate with the main computer even when off?

For the first time ever I am going to plug the block heater in tonite and see what that does in the morning.

I get a similar code when my high idle kicks in (see several posts regarding this endeavor). The dealer wants $700. 00 to replace the tps. It's been this way for 2 winters, so I'm in no hurry to replace it, but no one can explain why it is happening. I have not done any "box" work to the truck, so this is a stock problem for me.
