Anybody else have these? Lots of blue smoke at -15c starts, even when plugged in all night? Also my oil pressure always delays 4 or 5 seconds, more delay when it's colder out.

Thanks,

Rich

I've had blue smoke from day one...

And the oil pressure delays about 2 seconds. That's a built in test or something.

When it's plugged in all night? That's weird. Mine doesn't smoke at all in the cold when it's plugged in. Are you sure your block heater is working?

Block heater's working...

. . I know because grid heaters don't cycle on. When it's stone cold the blue smoke cloud is huge, like extending 30' away. This lasts for probably 10minutes from startup.

The local cummins rep. says their shop dodge shop truck does this as well so I don't think it's uncommon. However, he doesn't think it's right and said if I have excessive oil consumption I should see Dodge about warrantly work. I don't have enough miles to know if my oil consumption is high (6500km).

I'm hoping it's an atmospheric phenomenom as opposed to engine oil somehow getting burned in the chambers. I also noticed the exhaust from several gas vehicles looked bluish today as well, but this is more like bluish vapour that disappears quickly in the air. My smoke seems to hang around longer.
