Ok this is begginning to happen more frequently.
Truck will start then die immediately. Then I must crank it for 20-30 seconds to get it start again. After that it runs fine.
Conditions:
cold truck (so far only after sitting overnight)
outside temps 10-45 degrees
grids are working (not that it is cold enough not to start without them)
fuel tank level from full to 1/2 tank
RASP fuel pump with stock backup
Starts fine runs for 5 seconds or less
dies
then must crank 20-30 seconds before it will start again
once it starts the second time it runs and starts fine the rest of the day.
Anyone have any ideas on what to look for. I have not noticed any leaking fuel or anything(see or smell). My only thoughts are water in the fuel filter cannister. However I have drained that and this has occurred over many tanks of fuel(10+) and have even run the fuel very low a couple times to get as much old stuff out as possible in case it was bad fuel or water contamination. The only other thing I can think of is no fuel getting there ie loosing prime but how do you track that down for sure?
Any other ideas or anyone else have this problem before?
