OK here is the deal, the morning temp is getting down to 30+- and it takes 3 or so miles before the trans will shift into lockup. I take it easy and I have dealt with it for three winters now but its getting on my nerves. QUESTION... . does the upgrades ( DTT-ATS-DG) get rid of this ?? I am thinking with the tighter converters one just doesnt notice it... . talk to me please!

Jim,

I think that is one of the no extra cost added attractions of owning one of these things. My '95 does the same thing. Not as often, of course, where I live. It's waiting for the trans temp sending unit (in the front cooler line on a '95) to indicate that the trans is warm enuff. You can bypass the temp sending unit if you have a manual lock up switch (AKA mystery switch) installed. That will force it to lock up regardless of the CPM's opinions.

Mine does the same thing but I figure it does it for a reason and shouldn't be bypassed. If it's any consolation mine takes about 7 miles to lock up when it's minus 20°.
