My high idle worked today but when it got up to 1250 rpm the engine shut down. I started the truck with my remote starter, is anybody with a remote starter and with the high idle working having this problem? I did it twice the third time I started it with the key and the high idle did not kick in. Could have built enough heat after the first two starts as to not need the high idle. Wondering minds need to know. ;)

Check your high rpm setting on your remote start. This Will shut down the engine as explained.

The 3 cyl thing Will not work unless it is very cold. My ram for example Will not do the 3 cyl thing unless it is -42 deg C or less.

this is plugged in with an aux pan heater.

Not plugged in it Will ramp up at around 0deg C but the 3 cyl thing Will not activate.

I can start up and let run 10 min or more on high idle ,then drive to the coffee shop and a few minuets after it hits park it Will resume the fast idle feature.

Need lower temp's

Yesterday it was 28 Deg's and high idle did not work, today 19 deg's and it worked until truck shut off by its self.

What kind of remote starter do you have? I have the design tech, I called their tech line and was told to take it back to the shop that installed and let them call for help. I ask about relearning the remote with an higher idle setting and he said it would not work. So if anybody owns a design tech product good luck ever getting an help from tech support.

Dollars to donuts the remote starter is seeing the Rpm increase. Try this, remote start it and hop in and bring up the rpm's with your foot ... I bet it will shut down. I bypassed this on my clifford.

I did that

And yes it did die, think I can unhook the tach wire but will let tech line know first. Thanks for your input
