Hey Guys. About 3 weeks ago my truck jelled up on me and I had to have it towed. I found my fuel filter really dirty and plugged with thick fuel. I replace the filter and cleaned the screen in the fuel heater. Got the truck running, added fuel treatment and has been since. Except that I now notice that when the temp gets to be around zero my truck has no power and just puffs white and blue smoke. If I put it in neutral it acts fine but you can barely get 25 MPH out of it in gear. What gives? I was thinking that maybe in the cold, even with treatment in the fuel, that the lift pump cant pull enough fuel. Yes? No? My truck has 106k miles on it. I wouldn't think that the lift pump would be bad. It also has an EGR setup that I would like to get rid of that I thought might be causing some problem. HELP!

Check your overflow spring on the return fitting on the injection pump. Might have a problem there. The spring should measure around . 5" from what Ive heard. . You can stretch it out a bit to . 6" or . 7" to get a little more pressure. .

Depends on where you're getting your fuel also. . Maybe your supplier got a load of summer diesel for cheap, and its still gellin with the additive. how much did u put in?

good luck

Sounds like you may have Critters in the fuel. I'd get a Biocide treatment for it.

My truck did the same thing when I got Alge in the fuel. It looks almost like small coffee grounds in the fuel.

Another thought is if you didn't replace the gasket on the prefilter unit you could be sucking air in there which would cause your problems. Vaughn
