I have a 2001 quad cab with aprox. 44,000 miles. Totally stock motor. I have had no cold weather issues until this year. I leave plugged in overnight. Starts up and initially runs fine. I stop about half way to work (approx. 7 miles) for 15 minutes to have breakfast. The motor starts right up, then in about 3 or 4 blocks, it start to sputter really bad. Empty truck, not pulling anything it won't even pull second gear. Just sputters and misfires; lots and lots of blue smoke out the tail pipe. Now the wierd part. I pull over and shut the motor down. Wait about 10 seconds and restart. The truck runs fine the rest of the day. No problems. After the first time, I drained all the fuel out of the filter and put in a new fuel filter. Put in some Power Services fuel supplement and topped of the fuel tank (only took 4 or 5 gallons). Everything worked fine for about 3 days, then the exact same scenario. It was approximately 15 - 20 degrees outside.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Byron

Check for codes. Check fuel pressure. You may have a problem at your fuel tank. It sounds like a low fuel supply problem.
