1999 Laramie xcab, edge ez, 4 inch ex, KN air, 140,000 miles.

Was at Elk camp last week and temps were as low as 5 above. Had EDGE EZ set on 3 as I was pulling 26' GN with 3 horses and lots of gear. Truck has always started easy even when cold as setting for a while. Noticed it took several cranks to start under these conditions. Too much cold fuel??

Thinking of puttin in a mild set of injectors, 40 Horses. Will this make my vehicle hard starting because of toom much cold fuel?? Always shedded when home but when hunting, snowmobiling cannot shed or plug in.

Thanks for your help guys!!

Mine has started with the block cold-soaked to -6F. It did take a little bit more cranking with the M2s than with the stock injectors, but it did light. You shouldn't have any problems with the 40hp injectors.

I've always noticed a little "different" starting when I'm at altitude. Maybe 1/2 a revolution more to start above 7,000' or so. Not enough to concern me, but there is a difference.

My truck starts on the first touch of the key in single digit temps at 6100 feet elevation (here in Cheyenne).

This is with Mach 4s.

With a quality injector, you shouldn't have starting problems due to performance injectors. The same qualities that make an injector have less smoke also make it start easier in cold weather.

I'm not saying other injectors are low quality, but I *KNOW* that my F1 Diesel injectors (by Don M) *ARE* high quality.

YMMV
