Colorado Springs, CO "wrench day"

As I sit here typing away and looking out the window at all the new snow that fell last night and is STILL falling I'm thinking, "I'm sure glad I didn't plan a "Wrench Day" this weekend. BUT , ... ... ... How about May 9th(Sunday) ??????? I'ts real difficult to plan a day when it fits into everyones schedule but I hope this works for the majority. As like most, I'm real busy with other things but still wanted to get us front range guys together and talk truck.

Installing gauges, whistle and bells is great but there are a couple things that I would like to learn ...

How to change, prime the fuel filter --- we can use my truck for demo. Second, how to change out a lift pump. Mine is fine but someday would like to watch this done so if on the road traveling I will at least have some knowledge of the procedure.

I can fit 1 truck in the garage and 3 in the driveway to wrench on... ... ... . I have quite a few tools but bring some of your own just in case and as for lunch... ... ..... I'll get some Sprite/ Coke and we can pitch in for pizza or whatever. Sooooo, What do Ya think?? You can PM me or e-mail at -- email address removed -- and I'll give you the location of Mi Casa

This is great I have several things to do. By then I will have my headache rack to put on and I have all the parts for my on board air setup(I think) but this weather and work just aren't cooperating. However as my luck would have it I will be coming back from Taos, New Mexico that day and if the timing is good I will try and stop by but doubt I will get there in time to stop long enough to wrench much.

This is great to have some old parts ( not farts) at our wrench days so that we can learn some things also. Sometime I would like to see the what the old glow plugs looked like and what our heat grids look like. Larry took took the time to explain to me about the injectors and I found it really interesting! NEED MORE IMPUT ~~ Knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

I should have a used injector for "show & tell". Also, if anyone is interested, I'll bring along a can of interior paint (agate) for painting pillar mounts. I might have an exhaust system to install on my truck by then.



Anyone else have any specific projects in mind????

Well by then my headache rack should be here. I should have my new toolbox by then as well. I have an onboard air setup to install including the outback extremeaire compressor, tank, and a set of horns that I picked up as well as a Jordan brake controller to install. Now I have a new problem, daughter graduating college on the 18th and is having a graduation party at her house on either saturday 15th or sunday 16th not sure which. If sunday I'll be there on Saturday. If it is on Saturday and I can swing by for a bit I will but probaly wont have time to wrench. What time does this shindig get started and how do I get there from Castle Rock?
