Colored Marker LightsI have been searching the web relentlessly looking for colored (blue) marker lights for the interior of my new to me 2000 Ram CTD. After days of looking I just stumbled on a site and purchased some lights. If anyone else has been looking for these lights here is the site. http://www.virgofleet.com They have Clear, red, amber, blue, green and purple in many shapes and sizes both LED and incandesant. Click on lights and reflectors. You may get an error message, but just click on the link Lighting and Reflectors >> LED Spyder Lights on the right hand side and it will take you right to it. Hope this helps! Oo. :-laf Oo. :-laf Oo.

Blue = Busted!

Don't know how many states this would apply to,

but in CA blue lights to the front (or rear) of a vehicle are

Verboten! [It's a "cops only" thing!]

CA won't even let Fire Depts use blue "anything" (front or rear)

on fire apparatus!

If you plan to travel in CA - and maybe some other states -

would suggest you keep your old lenses in the truck somewhere!

In Washington, and I suspect most states, marker lights visible to the front have to be from white to amber, and visible to the rear, from amber to red... I know the blues will cost ya. Other colors are likely not heavily enforced, but blue... . quick ticket.

there is a fine line... are u looking for lights for the inside or outside?

blue isnt so heavyly inforced here... but im sure different states have diff laws.

Read the post guys. The key word here is interior. I don't know of any problem with any interior light color. Would it not be an advantage to use LED types only to reduce draw on an allready weak system? Dodge is known to use the thinest wire and weakest switches that they can.

In Canada blue lights are for snow removal equipment, orange is for tow trucks etc, reds for emergency vehicles, green is for volunteer fire. Just a little non interesting info for ya.

Woodenhead - is that a fairly recent change in Canada? It seemed like when I was a kid (although that has been quite a while ago!) I remembered seeing Canadian trucks here in Montana that had colored marker lights on them. I must have really stirred something up here. I put the colored lights inside under the dash, it seems (to me!) to be easier on my eyes at night than sitting in a dark cab and then being blinded by oncoming lights plus if you need to find something you don't have to turn on the dome light... ... ... ..... just my $. 02!

No this is nothing new (not in Ontario any way). Orange light are OK for any vehicle like cab lights, flashing orange lights are for caution (like a tow truck). As you mentioned, I know people that have lights (usually purple/black lights) inside the cab to help with seeing at night.
