Combo gauge install ?

Where & how does the egt sensor mount that comes with the Geno's "Combo gauge" and where do You find a good spot to connect the boost gauge into the intake manifold on these "new-fangled" 24 valvers? #ad

The probe for the Egt sensor can go before the turbo in the exhaust manifold (have to dill and tap the manifold) or in the exhaust elbow. There is up to 300 degrees difference between the manifold and exhaust elbow (elbow location registers less temp)
Haven't seen the 01. 5 yet but there still must be the 3/4" plug right above the fuel filter housing that you and take out and replace with a 3/4" to 1/8" reducer that you can tap right into for your boost pressure.

Yes the 4/3 plug is right above the fuel filter on the 2001. 5 trucks. Easy to do.

Suggestion - while you have the turbo apart to drill the manifold, drill and tap the exhaust elbow (off the turbo) for a second thermocouple. You can plug it temporarily and order another thermo from Geno's and get a DPDT relay to put in line to measure pre and post turbo readings at the flip of a switch.

Jeff, great idea as I will be dismantling and drilling the hole(s) this week or next week. You are right, I can always add the thermocouple later or just plug it and leave it. Cool #ad
