I have bought a Van Aaken C5 with a custom tune. The custom tune has too much timing for my truck. I don't want to send it back to be set back to stock, so I need the Tuning software!

Any updates on its release?

How/where did you get a custom tune? Did you send it back to them for some factory tech to do it for you? What did you think of the original factory tune that came on it? I tried stacking a couple things with it and nothing I tried worked at all and everything was turned to the lowest level. Things I tried were Smarty, PPE, EZ. I haven't heard of anyone being able to stack with even the original factory tune. You??

I bought it used from a dealer. It was tuned by a VA tech. on a truck very similar to mine.

I have never seen the stock tune so I can't compare the 2.

I am trying to get away from having to stack so I haven't tried stacking anything with it. I could try the mp8 with it.

I'd almost bet you it won't stack with the mp8 based on my experience with the EZ and the C5 stacked. Maybe once we have the software then things like that will be possible or perhaps it won't be necessary to stack at all when you can turn pressure up via the software program.

If I did stack the two it would just be the VA on level1 for timing and the MP-8 for pressure.



I tried all that at all the levels with an EZ and it didn't work,... outrageous injector pinging. Try it,. . maybe it will work on your setup and let us know.
 
just a heads up if yall didn't know but Don, probably the best tech that v. a had left. now they got the boss' kid-seems to have an attitude and not much help
 
I thought the whole idea behind the VA C5 was the elimination of the need to "Stack" when you can custom program.



I'm even more satisfied with my Smart + TST purchase. the VA C5 needs at least 2 years in the wild WITH the software to tune it your self before I'll give a second look.



The concept is freaking awesome. But the way it's being implemented is starting to sound it's not worth the money.
 
I'm running the c5 and have no problems. The first one that i hooked up on my truck had a lot of timing rattle, so I sent it back and got another one. My c5 is cranked to 200 hp because I did the beta testing for them and I love that chip. I have it on an 06, 04, and my 03.
 
I would like to send it back to be put back to the stock tune but I cannot get ahold of anyone at VA to get it done! I have called multiple times and left multiple messages and E-mailed them with no response at all.

And it sounds like I will be having the exact same problem with the stock tune!

It looks like my TST/Mp-8 stack is going back on and their POS UNSUPPORTED product is going in the trash!

because that is all it is worth in its current state on my truck!

It really is a shame that VA has dropped the ball on the c5. I have an early c3. 1 and while not the most aggressive I love the way it works and the simple, can't screw it up install. I really expected more from VA with regards to the c5, glad I didn't buy one!!
