I just found out that the crappy "Puck" that came with my truck has incredible resale value. So, I plan to sell it and buy a Comp to make my future OFE feel right at home. The Comp will only cost me about $200 after I sell the Puck. Anyway, I've read of several problems with the Comp but I assume that is a very, very small percent of the thousands sold. I've also read about excellent customer service from Edge... which makes me even more willing to buy. I would like the Comp because of it's power output, adjustability, and affordability. I'm currently not interested in injectors or Catchers so please only give feedback on the Comp. I really just want to plug in and go... and maybe a wire tap. Thanks Clay

I bought my comp new at a local diesel shop. He will warranty the part forever, but Edge has a 2 year warranty. The unit I got had about 6 months left on the warranty when I bought it, and it failed 2 days after the expiration date. Edge made me produce a copy of the sales reciept before they would even talk to me. I did, and they sent me a new box with a revised date.

That box then failed a few weeks after getting it installed. So, back it goes again and this time for the DRAG upgrade. Out of the box, it did not work right. It hung up on 1x1 or 5x5 and could not be turned off. Edge warranteed it again and I have this last box for almost 3 days now.

That's about 4 since Dec of '04. My truck ate that many lift pumps in 3 years.

So, make sure that you buy it from a vendor that will warranty the part for you. That will result in having a box available at all times.

Thanks for the responses guys. Any more? One out of 3 ain't too bad! FG, sorry to hear about your bad luck. What are you doin to those boxes???

Another thing, I found them on Ebay for $520 plus $15. I'd say that's a good deal. Is it really necessary to buy from a local vendor so they'll replace it when it goes bad? Isn't Edge the one that does the replacing? Please fill me in. Thanks guys

I got a screamin deal on a drag comp, probably because the guy I bought it from fried his injection pump. The pump failure was not due to the comp. Anyway, I've had it a few months and love it. I've had the EZ, catcher and now comp. Going to try a "special" catcher with the comp. Man do I waste $.

2 different trucks, 2 comps over 100,000 miles with one on. Never an issue. Well except for tires and clutch that wore out too fast. :-laf

Comp is the only way

Me and all my buddys have Drag comps and never had any problems. The only thing I have noticed is the VP-44s life seems to be shortened because of the wire tap, but heck, its only money

Runs good and the adjustibility is nice EDGE has got me hooked never would I go anywhere else. Customer service is great also, a friend of a friend bought a comp for an 99 and he had a 02 and the clip was different for the MAP settings and called Edge and they hooked me up with a dealer 20 miles south that had the part in stock.

Had my Edge Comp since 50k, one died and I got a new one fron Edge, then I upgraded to a Drag, the truck now has 136k with the original VP and the Comp is doing good. Just don't grond the ground wire to the air intake horn if that's what the directions still say, go directly to the battery.
