For those out there curious about "real world" observable differences between using the Comp WITHOUT connecting the pump wire - and then connecting it - I found out!
The Comp makes a great difference from stock WITHOUT the wire attached - but I was seeing a max of about 28 psi boost, and a fast EGT rise to 1100 degrees WOT and empty. AFTER connecting the wire, and leaving the level at 1x5, boost went to 32 psi (blew the dang guage hose offa the fitting!
) - and EGT maxed out at around 950...
Able to make as much smoke as I want
, and even at the SAME level 1 settings, definitely more power with the wire attached... And when you start going up the scale of settings, this dang thing starts pulling like an HO Cummins SHOULD pull!
Fuel pressure remains unchanged - even with the Comp on 5x5 at WOT, pressure at the VP44 never falls below 16 psi - thanks to the added Carter 4600 pusher pump...
Now to head for the hills with the trailer...
