Comp Question..

Is there such thing of having a certain amount of volts/amps coming off of you pump wire for your Comp.



I noticed that I get more smoke at 3-5 than I do at 5-5. . Whats up with that. It just started doing that today.

I get a lot more smoke on 5-5 than 3-5,something isnt right there. I dont get any smoke on 3-5 once under boost,and a plume when you hit it,on 5-5,I can darken the sky off boost,and it continues to smoke the entire time your WOT. it feels like a 50hp difference between 3-5,and 5-5 to me. EGT's are borderline in 3-5,melt down on 5-5.

See I put the blue chip pump cover on and it made a little difference when I hooked up the wire, but not a whole lot.

I can switch it from 3 to 5 and I really don't see that much of a difference. Setting 3 w/ boost on 5 I can get a puff of smoke, Setting 5 w/ boost 5 I used to get a bigger puff of smoke but it goes away quick in 3rd at high RPM's then hardly any at all in 4th. , but today I can't get any smoke on 5-5. Thats is what's making me wonder with the amps/volts... Is there something wrong with my Comp? What can I trouble shoot?

Have you checked the voltage at the pump cover?

You arent using the ground wire on the pump cover are you? I was avised against using it when I install mine.

I guess there may also be an issue if you do not have the power wire tightend down enough from the pump cover into the pump.
