hooked up the pump wire tonight and my question is on 5X5 how much boost are you seeing? how much boost diff. , before wire tap i was at 27-29 now at 33-34. of course these #'s are with b-dog 3's also. waste gate wired shut.

egt's are off the chart!! 1600+ easy

yeah yeah i know time for a turbo. any sugg. PDR-40?

oh and my clutch is NOT impressed.

seat o pants meter :D :D :D :--)

34lbs

I have a Comp and DDII's.

By the way, I had the Comp first then added injectors. Within 20 minutes my clutch was toast! I'm pretty happy with my SBC Con OFE. Got a good deal from Mark Kendrick, and that's all I'm gonna tell ya.

Hmm... I push about 36-37 lbs of boost with just DDIIIs and an EZ. That's with the boost elbow or the wastegate disabled, it gets the same numbers.

I wonder what I'll get when my PE Comp comes (hopefully not a grenaded turbo :D that'll be soon enough).

with the comp and dd2's I see 40 psi on level 5x5 at 1300*. That is with the PDR HX 40. When I had the HY 35 on my truck, I could hit 36 psi and 1600*+. I really suggest a clutch and then the turbo. You wont be sorry. Greg

May I suggest a staight pipe or 4" exhaust? Also a better air filter. Both will lower the exhaust temp. Ans spool-up will be quicker.

Tighten the seat belt!

Summit,

I have BDIII's, Comp Drag, PDR HX35 with non-wastegated 14 cm housing, Psychotty, and ATS exhaust manifold. My maximum boost is 39#'s.

Where in Idaho do you live? I'm in Post Falls.

Well, let's see. I've got a comp, a set of (highly) modified BD 2 injectors, and a slightly reworked HX35 turbo.

On 5x5, I'm bouncing the needle off the back side of the "0" peg on my Autometer 35psi boost guage. Using a calibrated digital pressure guage, I'm making 42-44 psi. All the while my pyrometer sits just shy of 1600*.

Fuel Pressure @ idle is 16~17 psi. WOT is ~5 psi.

I have a COMP BOX, DD111'S, B-1 TURBO, 4'' Exhaust, AFE Megga cannon air filter etc... I hit 1457 degrees at 51psi of boost on 5X5 pulling a 30,000 pound sled. It was fun.

More Questions Comp/275 users

Who's running 275's and the Comp-or similar? How much power is that combo making?

Eventually I'm putting in 3's, but for now may try 275's (my original plan) for the sake of postponing the inevitable turbo upgrade for a while.

I have a DDUFM coming and am going to run it on stock (ETC)injectors for a bit. Next will be a SBC and 275's, 'cause if I go straight to 3's I'll have to swap turbos right away. And I have the BHAF and straight pipe. I'll go to 4" or better when I do the turbo. And I'll be upgrading the fuel supply lines.

Ain't it a mess. Comments?

Wade, if youre just doing this stuff for testing different levels for drivability, it sounds like a good plan.

But, IMO, Id get the 3's installed first. Then the box for timing adv, and adjusting the torque hit down low, and smoke control.

Use some discression for taking it easy on the clutch & you really dont need the turbo, if you control your foot.

My point is, This "stepping up" thing gets costly. Might as well get what you want the first go-around. The 275's will only be a teaser.

If you are going to tow, DDIII's are a little to hot for towing. I can still see 1200* pretty easy on level one/three. Thats with the PDR HX 40. That is 12,000 lbs in tow.

Got my comp put in. I'm pushing about 41 Lbs on 5x5 with a stock HX35. My EGTs have hit 1400 degrees pretty easily, but I haven't really laid into it yet.
