Yes, DOC would

like Junk Yard wars type as much "junk" that he's disposed of, he would remember where each and every piece is and have a GREAT (dis)advantage. But, how would you judge his "human" work?

How about a " DON'T EVEN THINK OF BORROWING MY TOOLS" event? Not a team event, but an individual event. Not the normal event of remove a component and install a new or the same component, NO! However, comma, an event that will challenge the imagination, the brain, and the abilities of each individual mechanic signing on. As each mechanic may have a specific field that he or she excells in, this will be challenging to put together. But, not impossible. Most competent persons can remove and install a head or a turbo. Now, let's get to the meat of the competition--- removal, disassembly, repair or replacement of bad components or diagnosis of problem, assembly, installation and finally, test run it. The test run can be done on the engine or off the engine? This can be done for all makes, as the turbo is pretty much the same, as in disassembly and assembly. The power steering pump is about the same, and so on and so forth. The main idea is to make this competition as much on an even keel for all as possible, without having to have too many categories to delve into. With this in mind--- one can have a Ford comp, a Chevy comp and a Dodge comp? or to a mechanic--hopefullly-- disassembly, repair, assembly of a turbo or a power steering pump or a brake master cylinder should be equal no matter the manufacturer. Yes or No? I believe this would put all mechanics signing on on a level playing field. It is much easier to judge a mechanic on his(her) merits alone than a team. As a team, one mech may be the backbone and one mech may not contribute as much in one field, for whatever reason. An individual competition would be the best, as each mech's abilities can be displayed for all to see. More logical, maybe not, but I would rather compete this way than with a team. These speculations are for your edification! I would be highly intersested in getting involved in this project/competition. I believe I could be a great asset to you, if you are serious. what ever happend to this idea???????

Logistics happened. We have been so overwhelmed with just drag racing, sled pulling, vendors, etc. I still want to do one, I'll have to work on that some more.

I like your input JAROB, although I would like the competition focus on a diesel-related item. Thanks for bringing this back up Partsman! The best thing is we are still kicking going on our 7th show!

billet fly wheel or output shaft and my truck will volunteer. just as long is it back for the evening activities to see how they work.
