Does anyone know if there is any compound turbo kit out there that will not interfere with my Amsoil By-Pass system? Was looking at kits from Industrial Injection, ATS, and some others that utilize the stocker and I cant seem to find one that doesnt interfere. If I got to I will take the by-pass off but I'd rather not if possible.
 
by 'interference', are you talking about needing the oil port at the stock filter housing where you have your bypass hose connected for the connection of your primary turbo oil hose in a compound setup?

Yeah, that oil port is exactly what I am wondering about.

I'd like to keep the filtration if possible, but if not I will either consider a single or taking the by-pass off.
 
I had the same considerations when I did my compounds, so what I did was I got an Amsoil REMOTE dual filter setup, the BMK-25, it has both a full-flow filter and the bypass filter all in one neat package. That way I could use the oil port for the primary turbo and still have a bypass filter. I mounted the dual remote under the front end, easy to get to for oil/filter changes. You can also mount it alongside the frame rail. Worked out really good.

There's absolutely no problem tee-ing off one of the oil ports on top of the filter head if you're using both of them.

I've been running a D-tech 62/S476 twin setup, an OilGuard bypass filter, an oil pressure gauge, and an oil temperature probe. No problems on a recent 10,000 mile trip grossing 20k+ to Alaska on extreme roads, elevation, etc.

Your saying just come out of the oil port on the stock filter housing and run to the turbo but also t-off of that same line running to the turbo and go to the oil bypass or vis versa?

Yep!

There's two ports on top of the filter head. You can use one for the second turbo feed, and the other for the oil bypass system.

Or, I have a temp sensor in the first port. I put a tee in the second port, and ran one to the turbo and the other to the oil bypass filter.

The oil consumption of the bypass filter is very small compared to total output, as it's restricted by an orifice.

You can also use the oil pressure port just above the ECM. Its where I pull oil from for my psi gauge. It will take a metric to 1/8" NPT adapter, but then your golden. Its where I will move my bypass to if/when I do twins.

That's true... and that's a great location to tie into! That's where I have my oil pressure gauge tied into as well. The only downside there, is that it's on the wrong side of the engine.

Yeah I had no idea there were two oil ports on that filter housing, thats solves my problem, Thanks for everyones help.
 
One of them is partially blocked by the heater core return line, so it may take some massaging to get it in there.
 
I don't recall. I pulled the OE fitting out and took it to the hydraulic shop and never thought of it again really.
