the other day i was uninstalling/deleting some unnecessary porgrams/folders and now a problem has came up... . whenever i click on a pasted link i can not view it... it acts like it is going to do something but it never comes up. is there something in internet options that will fix this?? i dont see why i cant view these and i didnt delete anything that i shouldnt have ... i hope:(



please give me some direction to this problem
 
Did you uninstall adobe or macromedia flash? if so just go to the site and reload them. could also be a xms handler or if it's video links that wont open go to www.divx.com and get a new codec.

It sounds like you have deleted the underlying application that the shortcut (link) points to. You can delete that link since you most likely uninstalled the software.



If you ever need to recreate a link, find the executable in Windows Explorer, right click and drag to your desk top or start menu. When asked select create shortcut.
 
if you go to help at the top of the explorer tool bar and click about internet exploder can you check and post what version of explorer you are running? Some versions came with an embeded "Internet explorer repair tool" that can be found in programs / accessories / system tools or communications within 98
