Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Computer self diagnostic

Just wondering does anybody know if our trucks have this like most computer controlled vehicles?

when you turn on key lights go on dash as a test of bulbs and to some extent a check of some components and wait to start light comes on after heat or temp OK to start without heat . And it will through codes if some thing is not right. Ron in LOUISVILLE KY
