How many of you are using the COndensor guard from Genos??? Was thinking it might be a good idea since I live out in the dirt and rocks. Says the instillation is pretty streight forward. Any advice and opinions would be great. . thanks!!:-laf

I bought one last week and plan on installing it this weekend. I will try and remember to reply on how it went and take pictures of anything that I learned.

Genos condensor guard and tool tray

I ordered one too - due to arrive on Monday 3/5, can't wait to do the install. I'm in the process of installing air horns and noticed the vulnerability if the condenser fins at the top, prompting me to "fix" the problem. Geno's seemed to have the perfect solution. I am interested in the details surrounding the Suncoast Allison Transmission conversion/install & performance as well as total cost (didn't mean to high-jack thread, I'm new and this is my first post - No Excuse!!)

PS: Lacking info in Sig. , '06 2500 Big Horn SLT, Quad cab, 8' bed, inferno red, auto, Hummer wheels/tires, ATS flares, (Hadley air horns going on-tough finding a place for the hardware). Info in sig. to follow in near future.

This was one of the first things I installed on my truck. After seeing the damage done to the work vehicle I drive (Dodge too) I just had to do this. I'm glad I did. I find myself leaning on the guard. I get inquiries about it when I lift the hood. They think it's a factory option. :)

So you would basically just unscrew the 4 condensor screws, place the new guard over it and bolt back down? SOunds pretty simple. THanks!

2 screw's into the front, the holes are allready there, and 2 sided tape across the top and your done. That is on an 03 though.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm about to install air horns on mine. Any advice on where to put the horns or other advice would be appreciated.

I pulled the left front fender liner to get access to the original horn for removal to make room for the air horns. I made a custom mounting bracket and was able to use the original mounting bolt for the air horns (Hadley Bully). Compressor was mounted to engine similar to Pac Brake unit location. 2 1/2 gal. tank is mounted to bottom of bed struts outside frame forward of left rear wheel complete with gauge and quick disconnect for future air hose attachment.

I just bought a condenser guard from Genos. Since the 1/2" holes are pretty course, plus the fact that my biggest problems are bugs and seeds (from driving through 4 feet tall weeds) hitting the condenser and blocking air flow, I put a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth in front of the guard, attaching it with small zip ties.

The condenser guard came with 2 plastic zip ties and said to use them to hold it down, but the second page of the instructions was gone, so my question is..... HOW DO YOU ATTACH THE CONDENSER GUARD TO THE CONDENSER?

Thanks,

Blake

Mine is hung over the condenser, attached at the bottom by two zip ties.

I just don't see anything to zip tie it to. Did you just stick the zip ties through the fins of the condenser and come back and loop through the guard? I know it's a really silly question, but nothing is obvious.

Thanks

That's exactly how it's installed. Don't pull the ties too tight or you'll damage the condenser fins. I have some door screen behind mine to catch bugs, keeps the condenser clean. I usually change the screen as needed.

I painted mine black after I had it installed, didn't like seeing it through my grill, especially since it was not exactly centered.

why is everyone's condensers getting beat up????if you don't mess with them, the fins are fine... just have to be careful around them. .
