:eek: I went to install the condensor guard from Genos and it wasn't as easy as I thought!! It was easy to get at the Upper brackets, but the bumper was really in the way for the lower ones. I pulled it up as much as I could and didn't want to bend the aluminum lines coming from the Passenger side so I just put it all back together real nice and decided it wasn't meant to be! LOLOL The box said 2003 model so I am sure it fits, but if anyone needs one, I will give you a heck of a deal... Oo.

It's a tight fit for a screwdriver. I used a socket that fit a hex type screwdriver tip like one used in a powertool. With the screwdriver bit in a socket and a socket wrench, I could remove and install that lower clamp mount easily. Don't give up! It's well worth it and when installed along with the stainless steel top guard, it's real pretty too.

It took a little finesse, but I was able to swing my condenser up far enough to access the lower screws on both sides.

My install was frustrating too! Two different sizes TORX, bumper in the way also. I suspended the guard ( with wire ) approximating its final position and guesstimated the drilling sites for each bracket, and marked them. After drilling the guard, I mounted it most securely at its top but less so in the hard-to-get-to lower positions. Its not too heavy to work with less than all the TORX in place. Cursing, vehemently, is a great help also. You can do it, if I can.

According to the directions there is no drilling required. My problem was lifting the COndensor up to get the lower bolts w/o busting a high pressure line... :-{}

I'm on cold meds right now, so my head is a little cloudy, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why you guys are talking about the bumper... my guard and tooltray went on in about 5 minutes. Are we talking about the same thing here? My install had nothing to do with the bumper or anything near it... :confused:

They are talking about the full condensor guard that covers the entire condensor. You are talking about the guard that goes on the top corner only.

On my new 06, about 1/3 of my condensor sits BELOW the bumper line. The lower brackets are directly behind the bumper. Not easy to get a rachet or Torx in that space. I could not get it done... .

That's why I returned mine as well. The 2003 I used to have the guard was a cake walk the 2006 it appeared to be a nightmare so I returned it. That is why Geno's gets my business no questions asked just send it back before you tried to install it. You know kinda like don't try on the underwear and then try to return it!!!!!:-laf

Like Skipro3 said, Take your time and use a rachet set-up with a Torx hex bit, or I used a small 1/4" rachet dogbone wrench with the Torx bit to get to the brackets behind the bumper... ... I did it easily, and I'm paralyzed from the waist down !!! Don't give up, it's a good product to protect the condenser. I put mine on the 06', and it fit perfect. There are oval cutouts on the edge to allow for the Torx screws to be installed when sandwiching the guard between the brackets... ... . it'll only go one way, and all 9 holes lined up perfect..... on mine anyways !!!!If it doesn't look right one way, flip it end for end... It should only go on one way.

This was the first mod I did to my truck. I was amazed at how fast and easy it went in and the wires Genos includes to hold the condensor shows they really think about their products. There are two bolts hidden by the bumper, but with various u-joints and small extensions I was able to get them. The torx bits I just lifted up the condensor enough to get to them with a torx-screwdriver. Took maybe 30 minutes tops.

if i remember right i just skipped one of the torx screws that was very difficult to get to. its plenty tight and checking while working on other things its just fine, no rubbing.

I put mine in about a month ago. It was easy. I used the wires Geno's provided and tied the condensor up as high as it would go to the rubber hood bumbers, after I had removed the bolts on the frame assembly. I had to lift up the condensor at an angle to get at the bottom torx screws. No big deal. Just reversed the procedure to put it back together. Took about a half hour.

with a bit of patience, and a stubby screw driver... . I found the install to be a breeze ! Sorry to hear you had such a time with it.

My went really well also! I think I had to slightly enlarge a couple of holes, but nothing major. Took less than an hour, one of the eaiser installs. ;)
