yes and the truely sad part is that there are thousands of ford owners who have to live with that piece of crap because they cannot get out of it. No way would I ever consider a Ford, read way too many horror stories as well as living in a RV park I get to listen to the owners complain on a regular basis; best one was the guy who had paper plates on his 06 that was trying to get it bought back... .

It blows me away that people still buy that truck. It has been years now and still no real relief. The attempts to "fix' the problems have now left Ford with the loudest diesel on the market. It isn't a "cool" loud like a pre-common rail Cummins, it sounds like BB's in a dryer :{ 77 bullitens for Ford, none for Dodge, you have got to like that :)

When I traded for my '06 the salesman was saying that they won't even take them in trade anymore, they can not sell them if they take them and they make such low offers during the deal current owners can't get out of them. With the power of the internet these days you would think people would check out a truck before spending $40-50k. Talk about blind loyalty :(

My neighbor, a mechanic, had an earlier (7. 3) Powerstroke that was bombed, like all his trucks, & finally sold it after installing the eighth transmission.

Bought an '04 Powerstroke & burned up the engine pulling a toyhauler. He hadn't even put the license plates on, yet. Ford denied warranty, after tearing the engine down because he had a box installed & hadn't removed it for the warranty trip to the dealer. He had to tow it home with the engine parts in the bed of the truck. He rebuilt the engine, on his dime, & it ran well but, he was worried that it might self-destruct, again, so he sold it.

He then bought an '05 Powerstroke, with everything on it, & promptly blew that one up, also. This time, the dealer installed a brand new engine, for him.

Admittedly, he does run the "crap" out of his trucks & has the highest performing boxes on them, that he can find. I told him to turn the boxes down while towing & his answer was that "They are supposed to be able to that".

I wonder when he's going to figure it out?

Buffalo, Your neighbor is an idoit.

Its people who make false warranty claims that cause the price of trucks to increase, the quality of materials to decrease and also cut into the salaries and bonuses of their employees.

I know what you mean and its just like the gassers. In 04 on the 3 valve motor they went to a unique spark plug that has a long shank between the electrode and threads. The shank portion fits into a machined bore in the head and what has been happening is the shank freezes in that bore so when you pull the plug it snaps in 2.

Then you gotta pull the heads and drive the rest out with a punch making for a pretty spendy plug change. Way to go Ford!

Buffalo, I think your neighbor has earned his sign!

Tell him we all say. . Heres your sign :-laf

:-laf :-laf I gotta send this to a buddy of mine, who would buy this thing, if there were a MILLION recalls on it! Its because it says "Fix Or Repair Daily" on that blue button on the front! :-laf :-laf

By the way, does anyone know what happens when you push that blue button?

This right here excites me:

"Ford has issued 77 technical service bulletins for the Power Stroke diesel since 2002, while in comparison GM has issued only eight for its Duramax diesel and Dodge has issued none for its diesel powerplant. "

It still blows me away that the diehard fordys can't bring themselves to admit that the engine is a crapshoot even though Ford is getting rid of it, Ford itslef admits that it is a problem child, and it has as many buybacks and TSB's as it does. Although I must say, many fans are starting to scratch their heads.

My Dad's boss also deserves his sign!!

This fellow is currently on his 4th 6. 0-L Power Stroke. He has had problems ranging from frying the turbo to computer replacement and many others on all of his trucks. He currently paid over$ 55,000 for new 06 F350 Super Crew with every option known to man. Well, this past week when Dad went into work, he seen his boss's old 05 F250 sitting the parking lot. He asked the boss what was wrong with his new 06 and boss told him what it was. His boss got his old truck back to drive for a loaner truck! We love it!

Boss now tells us that the dealer will not take any 6. 0-L back in for trade if it has 70,000 miles on it as it will be to large of a liability for them!

All we do is laugh!
