Had a nice Conversation With a gentlemen in a white 2nd gen 2000, Lifted and Modified at work today. He had "Adams Construction" on the side.

If you read this - You have a nice rig!

The same red/silver truck is sitting across the street from my house right now. I think it's Dee(my neighbor)'s brother. Don't know his TDR name, but he's got the sticker in the back window. Guess he had a silver truck he sold, now he's got this red one. Looks nice. Tinted windows and so forth.

Tim in the long hill area,

PR thanks but I wish mine was nice as yours, and yep the bombing started the minute I pulled in the driveway, hadn't even cooled off and the exhaust was on it and I was ino the inj pump:)

Way to go! Us under-valved people get to have fun, even if we don't get electronically-variable timing! Your truck must have the 215 hp pump. I couldn't believe the difference when I put one on my truck. Woo-hoo! I even backed my timing off a degree from where the 160 pump was. Love that fuel.

I'm hoping that it has the correct pump, the truck had a new/rebuilt pump on it when I got it, I need to do the KDP and figure out how to do/check the timing, the I can get the other parts in the garage out of those boxes

Well, timing isn't too big a deal. Doug's probably done it a million times, and I've done it a few times. I have the tools available at the shop in Derby. They're co-owned by me and another guy up there. Alternatively, you can just come up to the shop one Friday night if you want, and if there isn't much going on we can hook you up then.

I haven't stopped up in derby in quite some time and should. what tools are needed to do it? is it just the tdc tool? and if so would itr be possible to borrow it? I live right around the corner on colony. Also will be doing the clutch real soon as I have a friend in bridgeport that has a new dyno and wants to see how my truck does with the minor mods.

PS: the white QC on blackhouse rd is also my old truck:)

Well, you need the DV socket, the dial indicator, adapter, barring tool, new lockwasher, torque wrench capable of 165 ft-lbs, 30mm socket, you have to know exactly what pump you have, the timing chart that shows the lift specs for that pump, and know the procedure.

Oh, yeah. You need a gear puller to get the gear off the pump shaft if you decide you want to reset the timing from where it is. It's not very hard if I can do it. Your dial indicator needs to measure in millimeters, since the specs are written that way, unless you don't mind converting to inches.

Thanks, I have the gear puller also,,,,I was an auto mechanic all my life before I got into HVAC. Converting in. to mm. is no biggie.

If you need the lift charts Piers has them on their web site (up to a point).

There is a bunch of us "Bucketheads" floating around here, unfortunatly there are some cops too, but every group has to have their "handicapped" quota... :-laf
