New Wrangler CRD?

I'm all out of my cache of CI + Valvoline Blue motor oil. Any agreement on the best dino oil?

I'm wondering of Tractor Supply still sells CI for tractors or other off-road farm equipment... .

I checked all the oil at TSC last time I was there. Every ounce was CJ, and they had all sorts of propaganda about CJ being better than CI.

When it comes time, I'm hoping to still be able to get Premium Blue Classic, which is CI-4+.

There is a company in Indianapolis IN. called D-A Lubricant Co. That sells CI4+ oils. Been using a couple of years works Great. Their phone number is 317-923-5321. They also have a web sight with all information and specks. Hope this Helps.

Lubrication Engineers makes the best oil you can buy. It is not synthetic, but it out performs synthetic. I have seen it go 20k miles in a firetruck application, and still test good! Firetrucks are very hard on stuff especially the oil. I'm sold on it from real world experiences, and won't use anything else in my personal vehicles. It has the zinc and the high tbn, as it is a long life oil.

Lubrication Engineers, Inc. - Welcome.

Valvoline CI-4+ Premium Blue Classic was available at my local Cummins distributor
(Cummins NPower, Minneapolis/St Paul) last fall. It looks like some fleets are still requesting it.
Get an account and buy it when they send out sales fliers. The sales
reps are on commission and will usually try to win your business by offering a good
price. Don't be afraid to dicker. Have it held at will call. Never go into the parts counter for anything.
You will be charged inflated "retail" prices. At the time I bought mine it was only available
in five gallon buckets - good for drain oil. That may have changed. Get a hand pump like Zee line 5 gal. oil pump
if they no longer have the jugs.

The Amsoil "Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine" 15W-40 oil is still being produced as a CI-4+ oil, and is available in Quarts, gallons, 2 1/2 gallons, 30 gallon drums and 55 gallon drums. I beleive Amsoil plans on keeping this available until there is no market for it.

Kendall-Super-D 3 Engine Oil

I've been using Kendall SuperD3 CL4plus 15W40... mainly because I traded for a bunch of 5 gallon buckets of the stuff. It's pre-CJ and seems to work fine. Only downside is a slight smell for the first 100 miles or so after an oil change.

If I couldn't get "free" oil, I would use Rotella in my truck.

I'm getting Caterpillar oil... . maily because I get it at a discount... Its actually made by Mobil. The Cat 15W40 is CI oil.
