My Dad's new to him 2014 3500 Laramie has the center console and buckets. He wants to add a CD player in the bottom storage under the arm rest. I have what he is looking for in my 15 LongHorn. I am having trouble finding the correct plastic tub and CD player part numbers and anything else needed. Anyone able to help?

Thanks!!!

On my 17 5500 Laramie, I purchased a USB powered CD player on ebay and mounted it facing up inside the storage tube in front of the armrest console. Works great and I keep the two cup holders where I found my year had CD player installed. Very easy and it sounds good.

That's a smart move!

The music on his CD's is the same weither it comes straight off the CD's, or if the CD's are ripped and the music placed on a SD card.

You don't get the point - that guy wants to use CDs and nothing else, he refuses to touch any technology newer then 30 years. I know such people all to well, it's hard to deal with that stubbornness to get them to use new technology.
My brother is the same kind...
Most of the time I just walk away then...

I like all the technologies... I have cassette tapes from the 60s that still play, I have 33 1/3, 45s, 78s vinyl, CDs, streaming from my phone. I have around 400 CDs I still listen to, today as a matter of fact.

Us old men like to use what we want!o_O;):):D

My dad was the same and so am I. He used always new technology all the way up to 82 when he passed away. He liked these new gadgets that made his life easier.

I am old also, however I spent a carreer working on electronics, electronic accounting machines, point of sale terminals, mini computers and computer networks. So if I can have bunch of music play from a single little source I go for it. In my current truck I have a couple thumb drives with hundreds of songs and Sirsius/XM. I seldom listen to broadcast radio. At my homes(5th wheel up North and park mobile with Arizona room down South) I listen to music on Alexa devices and have an Echo dot feeding the stereo systems, plus a thrumb drive in the stereos(5th wheel and park model have the same built in stereos).

In my Kawasaki SxS I have an intercom that supports bluetooth. We can chat between seats with headsets, talk to other buggies on interface to VHF radio, listen to music from nav tablet or smart phone, and answer phone calls. Same on the Spyder trike, however I can only talk to passenger or riding buddy, not both at the same time. My quad up North is set up for VHF radio coms with people I ride with.

So moss growing under my feet, NO WAY! I do however have webs between my toes growing up and living most of my life in the NW. And this last May and June I think they grew more.

He is 87 and this is how it is. He spent $600 and had his center dash removed and a Panasonic unit installed that would play a CD and he couldn't figure out how to use the heat just for one example and after a few months of frustration he had them put it back to OE. I found the correct parts months ago but can't seem to find them now to remove the lover tub and replace with the CD compatible tub and the CD player. That is what he wants. My wife insisted we order the 15 with the CD player and yes it never gets used.

Sometimes you just need to give people what they "WANT".

Jep, I know that all to good.
I knew that at your first post because I know also that you know all the alternatives to the CD as well.
