I get my Stanadyne PF in 5 gallon cans and wanted a way to break it down into smaller containers easily.
At first I got a 1/2 gallon Stanadyne jug and tried to keep a Stanadyne 16 oz container filled from that and use 8 oz at a fill up. It is somewhat difficult to pour from the wide mouth 1/2 gallon jug into the narrow mouth 16 oz container especially at the pump in the wind, it blows everywhere.
I want my wife to be able to refuel and have a simple "dump one of these into the tank before you pump the diesel then fill 'er up".
I went looking for another way to do this and found the Freund Container web site. They make containers in all sizes and materials in all kinds of different configurations. I looked for a HDPE (High Density Poly Ethlyene) material that is not effected by corrosive materials or oils.
I got 15 1/2 gallon 31064B container (notice it does NOT come with a cap).
I got 10 312089-8 8 ounce wide mouth containers (also do not come with a cap) for each tank fillup.
The tops I got were the X38-400C-WB (they fit both containers and seal really well).
(It takes 10 @ 1/2 gallon containers for one 5 gallon can of Stanadyne and you always have "some" in another can you are using until that can is empty. With 15 @ 1/2 gallon containers I can order a new 5 gallon can of Stanadyne and repackage it all at the same time.
10 of the 8 oz so I can fill enough of them and keep some on the shelf and some in the truck)
One thing you need to be aware of is there is a $10 case break fee if you do not take a total case lot of any item (does not pertain to tops), in this case I had to pay a 2@ $10 case break fees because of the 2 different less than case lot items.
I now only carry 6 of the 8 oz containers and fill as necessary, and take the 1/2 gallon jug on extended trips.
