Continuous Wheel Balancers

Has anyone out there tried Centramatic's Continuous Wheel Balancers? Ever since purchacing my 91 1/2, W250, in 2000, I have had a problem with a front vibration. It will normally show up between, 45-55 mph. I have gone through the normal routine, new tires, front end alinement, wheel balancing and tire rotation. I have even taken the front hubs off to inspect the wheel bearing. It's still there! Sometimes rotating the tire rotation helps alittle. I have noticed that if I jack up the front wheels of the ground and spin the tires, that they will not run true. HELP!!!

Before you buy something expensive, have you tried using the taper style lug nuts to center the wheels when you mount them? Dodge has a service bulletin about this and details the method and P/N of the lug nuts.

They work great, have them on the front of my big truck to stop cupping, which they did. BUT, if you have a problem that can be corrected, like the tapered lug nuts, I would do that first.

Is it your tires that are not running true or is it your wheels. Sometimes there is a problems with the front hubs themselves being out of balance or even out of round. You might try to find someone (it's getting progressively harder) that does the spin balancing on the vehicle. The downside of this is that you cannot rotate the front tires without rebalancing.



ALSO, I believe that the tapered lug nut fix was only for the dually wheels. I remember it was a Dodge update when I bought my '93 dually. I would just use 2 of the tapered lug nuts on 2 of the opposing wheels studs to line up and center the dually wheels, then and the other 6 regular lug nuts, remove the 2 tapered lug nuts and replace them with the last 2 of the originals. Kind of silly, but it did help a bunch. I still have to do this on my Ford dually to keep the wheels centered.



On the other hand, I am also considered the add on type of balancing system to go with the rest of the "fixes". It seems to be an ongoing battle dealing with vibrations. The bigger the truck, the bigger the problems.
