I have a bent control arm. Lower drivers side.

I got the bolt out on the frame end with no problem. The bolt on the axle end where the alignment is will not move. The nut will go a little each direction then stop. The bolt looks like the threads were ground flat on one side. Any suggestions?

Tried pb blaster, impact gun, bfp, (big f. . in pipe). Why are the threads flat on part of the bolt?

The threads are flat on one side on purpose, they key the eccentric cam to the cam on the other side are you trying to turn the nut or the bolt? Make sure you turn the nut only, the bolt is what adjusts the camber.

yup

just trying to turn the nut. it would move a little but wont loosen. I didnt want to clobber things too hard. I marked the plates with the lines scribed in them so I can put it back togther close until it goes to the alignment shop. Does the bolt just come out straight after the nut comes off or does it thread out?

The bolt should come straight out after the nut is removed. You may need to tap it a little with a soft faced mallet.

Hey Nblack

How are those links working out for you, are you still happy. I ordered mine a few weeks ago but still waiting for them along with trac bar, dual shocks. I am changing everything, I am going to try the SKJ springs also. Do you think I will be able to get those springs in without a compressor if I have the top link off. Thanks for your other help, OH and by the way with your stableizers in that position did you tear your boots because mine are torn on the top where the bracket hits them. Later... . Dwayne

It is good to read these things because they help get prepared..... Oo.

Mediccummin- I removed the top link and still could not get the springs in. Mostly because the upper control arm doesn't give you enough space to do it. If thats removed it may work but it will be a total PITA to reattach it with the new springs in. I had to go to NAPA and rent a spring compressor for $25. :( But that was better than the alternative which was buying one:rolleyes:

The New SJ springs are a bit tall. So I would get a spring compressor before you attempt the install.

Just got back from Muncie a few days ago. 2000 miles later and the SJ lift and Bilsteins rode like a dream with no problems. I recieved alot of compliments too. :)

Mactruck thanks

thanks for the info. I used a spring compressor that I bought when I did the spacers but they were'nt that good so I'll have to get some better ones..... Thanks again... ... :D
