Have a 2003 2500 Laramie Long bed. Would like to upgrade leaf springs to 1 ton to better carry my slide in Outfitter camper. Can I add a leaf or should I upgrade another way? Suggestions appreciated thanks.
The 2500 and 3500 SRW used the same leaf spring pack on 3rd gens. The 3500 then had some upper overloads, but they didn’t do much within the capacity of the stock tires.
Personally I’d go with some Firestone airbags. I did that on my 05 3500 SRW and would run RAWs of up to 8500lbs. They did great.
Thought about those also. Had a one ton and it used to ride on the overloads just right with this camper,so I figured I'd do the same thing, but air bags are good idea too. I had them before and I liked them. Thanks for reply.
