convert ve to p pump cam gear ?;s

I have the parts to convert already, bought them long time ago. . its so long ago that I forgot if the stock first gen ve cam gear will mesh with the p pump injection pump gear correctly or not. . ie i forgot if i have to swap cam gears. .

etc.

I did a search but i could only spend 1/2hr , as I ihave to split for work asap.

Cam gear is OK. You need to change the gear case, stamped case cover, and pump gear.

thanks Joe. I have all the parts then. . mummn I'm tempted to swap it hehe. . oh well maybe the getrag won't like it though. . I know with 370s and plate slide my old rnv4500 clutch took a slip and that was on a '96 215 pump truck. . oh well it rann nice thoughh hehe

AS long as the Getrag is set up properly, i. e. not shimmed too loose or tight, it should stand up to what a NV4500 would. And, I have been told the Sachs clutch is stornger than the later LuK. I can verify the 225K stock clutch is better than a new LuK ProGold- BTDT, no fun.

I hope so too. . I have a freind that like em and has had over 200 k on on em with out problems. . this is my first getrag . . I had a NV4500 but sold that truck. . I had that clutch slipping with just 370's and stock plate slide forward ... it saw 45 psi pretty often. . I hope this getrag works well. . at least till I can get extra cash to do a different swap in . . I am thinking of a 3 inch body lift and a truck trans???. . its cheaper price wise and I have access to a divorced 205 transfer case. . I still am debating . . not sure if I should dive in or not or just do nv4500 or 5600 swap . . mummn. . oh well
