I'm going to be replaceing the torque converter on my 02 3500 cummins this weekend. My question is; is the bolt pattern (converter to flex plate) symmetrical or asymetrical? In other words is there a set orientation for the converter bolt holes to line up with the flexplate. On previous gas powered vehicles I've owned, the flex plate and converter only line up one way.

Thanks in advance;

they are symmetrical... . same all the way around..... get your self a bottle jack and a block of wood to get the cross member out (it's a lot easer) push the frame rails out and the cross member will fall out nice and easy.

use blue loc-tight on the converter bolts

and drop the T-case... get rid of the extra weight

It has 6 bolts there 16mm and it will line up any way you start. No set orientation hope this helps. Good time for a billet flex plate
