what all will i have to change to make my truck a manual the only reason i am doing this is because i have a 95 manual truck that the body is shot on and the frame is pretty rusted on so i figured why not

I've done the auto to manual swap on my 1997 12v 4x4. The job was pretty easy since I bought the entire truck for parts. Everything on the manual truck bolts right up in the auto truck.

You haven't mentioned if your truck was 4x4 or 2wd. You need the manual transmission cross member and if your truck is 4x4, the transfer case will need to be swapped over as well as the auto and manual have different splines.

There is not much to everything. Just takes a little time.

Just be sure to inspect the transmission mount, I've had to replace mine when I did the swap. Replace the clutch if it's bad or get a SBC clutch if you plan on making power while transmission is out.

I forget the name of that metal piece that's under the dash that the steering column bolts to. That part will need to come out as well and the other part with the clutch pedal and linkage setup will have to go in. It's pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined. Just have to take apart what's needed under the dash (wiring on column, etc), disconnect the steering shaft under the hood, drop the steering column and remove. Be careful with the location of the wheel, I made that mistake already and ruined the clock spring, so try to keep the steering wheel in the same location.

The last part would be the hydraulic clutch linkage. There are two punched location marks in the same location as the oil reservoir in the manual truck, drill em out but keep the drill bit small enough for the screws to be screwed in. There will be a rubber circle covering a hole that was already made there from factory for the clutch linkage to lock into and the rod to go into the cab to mount to the clutch pedal.

Let me know if you have questions.
