Vacuum Kit for Front Axle

Direct TV versus Dish Network

I own a Onan Pro 6000E (portable) generator that I have had no trouble with. However, during the last hurricane gasoline was hard to get and the gasoline I could get was questionable. (Lots of water) I'm considering converting it to a tri-fuel (propane/nat gas/gasoline) I see a couple of vendors on the net with some adapters, but don't have any experience with any of them. Any ideas? I can't find any conversion kits on Onan's website.

I have noticed that going into a Cummins store you tend to get a lot better and more up to date information. You could also contact your local propane/gas company for information on a conversion kit. I know Norther Tool sells tri-fuel generators, so they may also be a source of information. They have to get them from somewhere.

my 2 cents. sell it. buy one that is already set up for tri fuel. lot less head aches. or get fuel before bad weather and keep what you have. PETE.

An engine needs some internal modifications to really run well on propane or natural gas... both have a higher octane rating than gasoline and have a different amount of BTU per gallon... so to make real use of the fuel you really need a different cam and pistions (higher compression). . so engines or generators that come ready for propane or natural gas just run better... .

However I spent a few year running a ford van on propane as well as a class C motorhome... in both cases you can do this with great results... but in each of my cases we ran the vehicle on 100% propane... the fuel system and whats needed is so much simplier than one that is designed for 2 or 3 different fuels. .

I'd suggest you see your local propane dealer and talk to him... most can lead you in the right direction... The 5er my boy has, is equipt with an ONAN designed for propane. . its a great runner and we don't have worry about a 3rd fuel... .

Hope this helps...

This may be a slight bit off subject fo what you are asking. In my 5w I mounted a motor boat quick disconnect 6 gal fuel tank along side the gen. My gen will run about 8-10 hours before re-filling. It can be filled from a "jerry can" or using the quick fuel disconnect be slid out of the RV Gen area and taken to a gas station.
