Okay, I know that all I need in the front is the adapters..... If I put a flatbed on my truck, can I use the axle that I have? Do I have to change the studs? Or can I just pull the wheels that are there off and slap on some Dually wheels?

Please don't reply with weight ratings!! I know that the numbers on the door won't change. I'm looking for stability and I think a DRW w/ a flatbed looks better than an SRW w/ a flatbed.

Thanks!

JL

I am positive that the front hud adapters dont always "just bolt on" check to make sure. Some are about . 070 to small for 2500 rotors

okay, nevermind... ... I went farther down the list of my "convert dually" search. It looks like you can't get around the axle. Too much work, I'm just gonna live with the looks of a SRW w/ a flatbed... . or fix my bed.

Where is the snag? The part number for the wheel hub on 2000+ front ends is the same whether it is a 2500 or 3500. The front dually extensions should bolt up fine.

It's the rear axel. I would rather have a flatbed dually than a flatbed SRW just because they seem to make more sense, and they look better, but I don't really have the funds yet to pick up a new rearend. I'll keep my eye out for one, and start there I guess. I just haven't seen many 01. 5 - 02 rearends (Dana 80 w/ disc brakes).

JL Penner... . You really don't need a new rear end. You already have a Dana 80. You can get an adapter kit from southwestwheel.com for $400 or $600 with 4 steel wheels.

I will most likely be doing the whole front/rear conversion for $1150 shipped including 6 steel wheels.

CJ... ... look up part numbers for some of the older second gens. I dont have the ability to do it, but I'll bet they are different. If they are not, I know of three sets of 2500 rotors with the hub machined wrong on them. The hub extenders I took off a 96 would not fit on 98 2500 rotors
