Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) convertor and valve body?

how much power, would just a good tc and vb ,handle?

From what I have seen it looks like the ATS and DTT's can handle over 400hp and 600 ft. lbs of torque and that is conservative.

I know the DTT TC will handle more than a stock trans will. You will reach the limits of th hi clutch pack,and 2nd band before the DTT tc slips ,so long as all seals are good and installed correctly

Call the prospective companies and get it right from them, that way there is no guessing. I would throw 350HP and 700ftlbs at a VB and a TC combo with no worries so long as the vendor knew EXACTLY what I was up to when I ordered it.

I talked with Bill at DTT, and was told that at 420HP, I was going to have to upgrade the internals of the transmission also, not just the TC and VB. Something about new seals, new clutch packs, and new bands. About $300 more.



PS. I case you're wondering, I'm swapping in an auto transmission for my 6-speed.
