I have 97 that I have always had high egts with. Also I have some smoke even at light power levels. Power for power it is less usable than my 24v. I lost a hose and over heated it. So I just tore it down. Many jugs are scored bad. #6 piston is slightly burnt. So what I am hopeing is that that has been My problem all the time. Any thoughts?????

Now that I will be building a new engine I would like to go with coated pistons, Larger studs, Orings, Ported heat, and a cam. Maybe twins and water meth but I may add that later. So can anyone recomend some parts? And a machine shop for the work.

I live in southern cal. I tow and may start to sled pull. I would like well over 500 hp that is useable.

Thanks

Steve

High egt's, smoke at light throttle, burnt piston... . raw fuel/bad spray pattern on one or more injectors?

Not enough air? too much exhaust back pressure?

You needed more turbo. I recently pulled my PDR 40 off, and bought a HTT HTB2. EGTs were fine empty, but couldn't pull much. Outside of the different plate, our setups were the nearly same. Pulled the 370s for the DDP4s last year.

Unless you use marine pistons, find a better injector with the correct spray pattern.
