Coolant Hoses

I am getting ready to replace all the coolant hoses and I need some advise. Should I get them from Dodge or from the local Napa store. I want to know which one would have the quality. If I have to pay extra for the quality thats ok. What your thoughts and experience??

You'll pay more for them from Dodge! ... not sure if NAPA carries all the molded hoses . . I got mine from Cummins ... and they are a bit spendy! If I remember corrcetly ... all in all the hoses ran me somewhere near $70.

Have been using NAPA hoses for a few years, I think they are Dayton, no problems with quality. bg

Well this does not exactly relate to the RAM, but as far as I know the OEM hoses have been a good product, so I might tend to stick with them. I have a 1989 Grand Am, (I know, it is a GM, but is the best car I have ever owned!) that still has ALL of the original hoses at 200K. I was talking to my Father-In-Law last week who is retired from owning his own auto repair business. Can't remember the brands of hoses he said to avoid, but he specificly mentioned either going back to the OEM (GM) or one other brand. Many of the replacement brands seem to have problems in his experience. Don't know if this helps, but may shed a different angle on hose replacement.

Stick with mopar hoses,find a dealer who will give you a discount.

I just put some Goodyear hoses on the truck. I've used the goodyear hoses on my car fot a coiple of years, no problems.

How about Geno's ( http://www.genosgarage.com/ ) owned by the same fine people as the TDR - they don't have the hoses listed on the website (that I can find) but have them in the catalog. I try to support those that support me and buy all of my filters/hoses/belt's through Geno's. I tried to get hoses around my area from ANYONE (needed them before the weekend) - not a single place (NAPA, Part's Plus, Pronto, Dodge dealer, etc) could find the hoses for my 24v - said that they only showed one part number for all of the 94-current dodges (wrong) - called up Geno's and bingo they were here within two days (BRAVO!!!) #ad
