My 2002 2500 I believe is over due for a coolant change
I know there's a boat load of anti freeze coolant out there now since I've had my old 95 3500
But what can I use now that I can get at my local auto parts store or wally world
I also have been outta the picture about the use of nalcool I know on the older big block Cummins we added nalcool to the system do I need it in my 5.9 ??
Any advise will help me please no 50/50 mix coolants I'm old school and refuse to buy distilled water ??
Pappy

Havoline conventional concentrate mixed 50/50 with distilled water is what i use.

I think proper cooling system maintenance is more important. Use the cheap green stuff.

Pretty shure 2002 is a 24v correct?

They didnt start using the fancy coolant untill later.

Use just standard water , probably best if it wasn't water that has chlorine etc and antifreeze then go to Napa and get a container or a machine shop if you only want cup of it a gallon will last you forever ,get some water soluable oil and add a cup to your radaitor then go for a drive or let it run for 20 minutes or so

No the 5.9 design does not need the additives like the big rigs
Thanks bob4x4 that's what I needed to know
I had a IH 7.3 in a furd and that needed nalcool
So now I can change out my coolant I've got bout 12 gals of some tech wally anti freeze that a friend gave me and it should work
