Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) coolant leak

I noticed some coolant on the bottom of the engine oil cooler plate. My question is does coolant flow behind the plate?Do I need to look elsewhere? Cant seem to find source of leak?Thanks

Yep, the oil cooler is in the coolant gallery. The seals dry out and creep so they seep around the plate where it bolts to the block. Typical nuisance leak.

so dont worry about it or should it be a replacement job? Also how bad a job is it?

Depends on how picky you are about leaks. I still haven't addressed the leak on one of my 12V's after 6 years.

It is not too bad a job, have t drain the coolant down though.
