2015 Ram 2500 6.7L coolant low level light came on,checked reseviour and found it really low to the point I could see the the divider and also look murky brown like.Oil stick looks totally normal no color difference smells the same as well.Truck runs fine, not down on power at all.Am I losing coolant through the head gasket into the cylinder,I do not know.Had the recall done on the water pump back in April.Coolant was checked regularly.Throughts

Awhile ago there was a post about the overflow line from the radiator (on the top at the fill cap) to the reservoir bottle, stating under pressure this line will weep. Will I kept losing fluid too, not a lot but over a period of 3 to 6 months I would need to fill the reservoir bottle. So, I checked my overfill line with the engine running and up to temperature. Sure enough a little fluid was weeping out at this joint. The simply fix is to use a ZIP-TIE around the hose and the projection tube at the top of the radiator under the pressure cap. I did this and I have not refilled the reservoir for a year and half.
Just a another suggestion to look at.

I had the water pump recall addressed a few months ago when temps were much warmer. Here in the last week or so my low coolant warning came on. The temps are much lower now (low teens at night, upper 20s during the day). My tuck is in the shop at night but still pretty cool compared to when the pump was replaced. I'm thinking that when the dealer replaced the pump they were a little shy on the coolant. Now that temps are much lower, more is being sucked into the block when the engine gets cold (colder). I just added a little mix to the reservoir and let it be. No more warning so far.

I have my own system when filling it, i do it way over the max mark and let it level itself to the desired constant level.
Never failed that way in decades.

Cooling system pressure testing kits are available on eBay and Amazon for under $50. It’s really the only way to be sure the problem isn’t just a small external leak.
