Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Coolant quality

Is the fleetguard stuff really needed of could I just run the normal prestone stuff in a mix with distilled water. I know the detroits and other big motors carry allot of current and need special additives and the exclusion of different things to prevent massive corrosion. Are the b series like this or can I just run the simple green?

Antifreeze

I don't think are engines are affected by cavatation, just use a extended life type antifreeze and dilute with distilled water like you were going to do. Thanks Steve B.

I have drained and refilled my truck with Prestone and distilled water every year since my truck was new. When I look down into my radiator it looks brand new.
