43 degrees F (~6-8 C) here today. I removed two sections of my winter front because I was towing. The truck seemed to run fairly warm, 200 or a little above. My dad's '03 runs a needle width under 200 and it never moves. My rad was fairly dirty when I bought the truck but, I've blown it out a couple times. The previous owner changed the water pump. Has anyone changed a T-stat yet? Part #? What temp is does your truck run at normally? Smarty Jr was on tow. With the JR it seems to take longer to reach operating temp.

sounds normal i woldn't worry. i changed my thermostat at about 100,000 miles and it acts the same as it always did. . thermostat is around $25 dollars and three bolts, five minute job tops. .

Water temps seem to run a few degrees warmer when towing with a "chip". Mine still does even thought the Smarty dropped the EGT's. My temp needle is usually just a hair below 200 to just a hair over.

My t-stat is still factory.

Maybe nothing to worry about. Just installed FASS today. Amsoil air filter should be here this week. Guages and transmission filter should hopefully be here next week. After that go tow some heavy loads to see how she does.
