Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Coolant

I changed out coolant on truck to Fleetgard 50/50 premix got 5 gallons

out of system could only get 4 gallons back in system. Has been 3 weeks

still haven't been able to add any to it. Truck temperature running normal

with 79 degrees around here what gives? Thanks

Wow, that would be one big air bubble!



Did you take the termostat houseing off and pour the coolant through there to fill the engine?



Have you turned on the heater to high temp? It could be the heater core is empty, I don't know if this could happen but I have seen just as strange things.



Is the over flow jug 3/4 full when the engine is fully warmed up?

How about half full when cold, could be sucking air back and forth?

No I filled radiator full and overflow bottle to the full mark per instruction

in Issue #37 Turbo Diesel Register. Yes I have cycled heater a lot of times.

Heater is working normal.

Are you positive you got out 5 and only replaced 4, I have never heard of such a big difference, a whole gallon is alot.
