I've got 69k miles on my 04, and would like to replace the cooling hoses. Is this pretty straightforward? Should I backflush the cooling system first? Has anyone done it and found any of the hoses to be particuarly tough to get at? Just looking for some pointers before I get going on it. Thanks in advance for any help,

Bryan

You mean radiator hoses? Them things LAST a LONG time! Its not like 30 years ago. I don't even CONSIDER replacement until 10 years on a vehicle. The COOLANT that came in it is a 5 year life span. My 98 has factory hoses, look and feel like new still. Seems a LITTLE overboard on a 04. I bet their SPECIAL ORDER only also. Only time they would be needed on that new a vehicle is repairing wreck damage.

I'm sitting in a motel in High River Alberta Canada... . my 04 is sitting in the lot with a 17,000 lb trailer behind it... . this truck has never seen a tank full of fuel without a load... it now has 185K miles and the same hoses, anf anti-freeze... . we've added 1 qt of stuff to fortify the antifreeze last fall.....

New tires, new clutch, 3 sets of u-joints, I don't know how many air filters... Lube, Oil and Filter every 8 or 9K miles... and I'm guessing this one will go like our early ones have..... to 350 or 400K before we sell them... .
