Is it necesary to remove the check valve in the transmission cooling line from a '95 before installing it on my '00. Since the oil only travels one direction anyway. The line that is on the truck now does not have one at all, or is there one somewhere else that I am not seeing. And what would it hurt if there were two, as long as they are pointed in the same direction.

The line I bought (part #5011244AA) has the check valve on it and is part of a 6" piece of hose. If I take it off I will be 6" short. Thanks in advance.

cooler line

The valve on your truck is in the fitting in the heat exchanger on the side of the eng. I don't leave that valve on any trucks I work on. On the fittings I simply remove it from the heat exchanger, pop the retainer out the back side and remove the ball and spring. On the short hose type, I cut the collars and remove the hose and get at the ball and spring that way, them have a parts house replace the short piece of hose with a piece of hydraulic hose. I keep a few made up. The check ball serves as a small restriction to cooler flow when working, IT CAN STICK which will lead to a big reduction in your c-note collection. If after removal you notice some drain back in the morning or after sitting, just let the engine run for a minute in NEUTRAL and off you'll go. :) The DTT valve body provides much more cooler flow and the drainback is rarely noticed. HTH.
