Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Cooolant Filter & coolant flow

I am going to add a coolant filter in heater hose line. What is the flow direction ? Does it flow fom the short hose on the block to heater core then from heater core to lower radiator hose area.

Does anybodyknow how coolant flows through our motor?

I think the heater water returns to the lower radiator hose area like you said. Not sure but you could run it and pull a hose off for a second to verify (engine cold). BTW, where did you find a coolant filter? I knwo the big rigs run them.

The hot water comes from...

the front of the head, just before returning to the radiator through the top radiator hose.
