Since I do a lot of 4X4ing through out the year, I decided to have a spare lift pump along with other spare items. Somewhere I got numbers of P/N 5080885AA for DC, and P/N 3990082 for Cummins. I went to the guy at Cummins and gave him the number, I asked him to check it to my engine number. A different number came back being P/N 3990105. Since this was run against my engine number, and he had (assumption) the correct number I bought it. Can someone verify that P/N 3990105 is the correct number for my '01 auto? If I had the wrong Cummins number, the DC number is probably also wrong. What is the correct DC P/N? I hate to be carrying around the wrong lift pump and discover it when I need it in the middle of nowhere.

3990105 is the # from Cummins. 3990082 was replaced/updated :)rolleyes: ) with 3990105. I was under the impression that updated means better... . go figure. ;)

I just had mine replaced yesterday at the dealer (under warranty). The number on the invoice is 5015723AC. I assume it's the latest one since they said they ordered it from Cummins, and it took 10 days to get it in. I guess that's a Dodge PN.

Thanks guys for the info. I figured that it should be the correct number since the Cummins guy checked it to my engine number, but???? I became nervous when he also sold my friend two filters for his CAT and they looked like something that is used on a Neon. I looked at these things and told my buddy that there was no way they were the right ones and he needed to climb under and pull off one of the filters. Sure enough they were two giant FRAM (yea believe it or not) filters. Well as it turns out I have to send the lift pump back as it has a broken tab on the electrical quick disconnect that I noticed when I pulled it out of the plastic package. I'm only keeping this one for a spare as my origional pump is still showing nothing below 9 lbs. It idles at 13, cruises at 12 and ocasionally goes to 11 on long hills. The 9 lbs. is towing and putting my foot in it to pass a DORF on big grades. Thanks again.

Let me try to clear this up for everyone.

3990105 = newest and best lift pump

3990082 = (1) 3990105 + (1) 4025182 wire harness for newer Dodge harness.

I would just buy the 3990082 and if you need the harness you have it if not, chuck it. they are the same price. -Lane-

Lane Anthony is the man!!! He spent quite a few hours a couple months back helping me track down the correct part number for the MAP sensor when no one else even knew what it was... :D:D

Thanks again Lane!

I bought my lift pump at Cummins West in Sacramento for I think ~$145?? That's regular price. If you are a Power Boosters member, you get 10% off that.

Another plug for Lane Anthony.....

Lane and the other great guys at Cummins NW in Portland, Or.

Great service. They act like they're glad you called. Of course, they aren't really acting, but you get my point.
