after waiting for part #'s 55277190 & 91 to repair the tearing weather strips for 2 months the dealer tells me the correct part # should be 55275616 -ac. anyone know what the real story is?

that tsb is from 3/04. that part was replaced by a newly designed strip with an indentation to allow the door to clear without rubbing

So, is 55275616 the correct part number? My dealership has my ordered replacement parts in, and I want to make sure they have the right part number before I go over there.

Thanks,

David

drno,

I just had mine replaced last week and they replaced it with 55275616-AC and I check the opration of it and it seems to be working.

I need to do this but I don't feel like waiting around at the dealership for it. Think they will just give me the weatherstripping?

They replaced mine with the smaller diameter stuff. I'm having them put my old w/s back on until they get it right. The new w/s caused wind noise and when it rains, if leaks inside on the front edge of the door.

Alan, do you happen to know the part number of the weather strip you sent back? Mine was just replaced with 55276941-AA, and the wind noise has picked up considerably. It sounds almost like a door or window is open. (Yes, I checked and everything was shut. )

Matt, Mine was the AB part number (small diameter). I really get wind noise if there is a cross wind blowing. The dealer realizes the problem. Until we can get the AC version of the part number, they are going to reinstall my old one.

Talk about a good dealer. It's 7:45 on Saturday night and he just had one of his guys give me call to tell me to bring it by at my convenience and they can swap it in about 15 minutes. I really appreciate the way they treat customers.
