Cost to Set Timing?

Could some of you guys who have had your timing set by a shop tell me about what it cost you? If it's not outrageous, I'll get this done soon so I know where I'm at. Sounds like some folks have found their timing to be way off. Scheid in Lafayette, IN is about an hour away, so I might contact them. Could be missing out on some easy HP ya know! Thanks.

Just done last week $250 CAD for timing adjust, pressure check and pump adjustments. $100 more for a valve adjusment.

Piers told me about $200 on the phone for timing adjustment, increasing the govenor 300 rpm and other misc. tweaks. Basically an overall pump tune to get everything dialed in to an optimum for my desired power level.



Will be headed to see him sometime soon I hope!

J-eh, just noticed your location. Did you have the work done by Piers?

Thanks guys. Called Scheid, they said $102 to set timing only, not including any tweaks, etc. Also said it was about a 2 hr. job. Sounds reasonable.

Nope, I would like to visit, but he is on the other side of the Rockys about 12 hours of 2 lane...



THere is a shop in Calgary I use regularly, a BD dealer and great all around shop GCL Fuel Systems. Heck even Cummins suggests him for workin on our rigs.
